The bootloader problem is (most likely) the same problem that I encountered installing Linux Mint 19.1 and Ubuntu 18.x. Now the system will boot into the Grub boot manager and one can select Windows or Linux.Īlternatively, it's possible to install Grub2Win to either modify the Windows Boot Manager or have the Win2Grub boot manager instead.

Many solutions listed like re-formatting the disk in MBR (versus GPT), moving to BIOS legacy mode etc. Despite being an ex-HP employee and experienced in Linux, it took me more than a half day to figure it out.
